Think Big, Start Small: A Practical Guide to Entrepreneurship
Call it a side hustle, a new start, or a pipe dream, many genetic counselors wonder what it would be like to start their own business or create an outlet for their passions. This session will explore how genetic counselors can start their entrepreneurial journey. Speakers will cover topics on what someone should consider when starting a business, how to start a business, and ways to scale from a side hustle to a full-time job. We will also review challenges and considerations to being an entrepreneur as well as transferrable skills that genetic counselors already possess that translate into starting a business. Each learning activity is designed to follow with the preceding content discussion so that the audience will be creating a business plan in real time.
